Hon' Minister Jay Narayan Vyas Says,
It took 47 years for the number of medical seats in Gujarat to rise to 356. We added 50 seats in 2009 and will add another 750 by the end of 2010. The Government will buy ambulances to maintain and increase the fleet in tribal areas. Postgrad courses in emergency medical services shall atart at BJ Medical College anf NHL College - a first in the country.

Centre nervous over Ishrat affidavit: Vyas
Cabinet spokesperson and health and family welfare minister Jay Narayan Vyas came down heavily on Union home minister P Chidambaram's statement that the state can't justify fake encounter killings using Central intelligence inputs as conclusive proof for gunning down people.

Jai Narayan Vyas, spokesman for the Gujarat government said that the encounter was not fake and that the state government would challenge the report. He said in a statement that the report was not valid as the suspects had not been given a chance to explain their stand.

Jay Narayan Vyas in his long spanning career has distinguished himself as a scholar, analyst, academician, administrator, manager & a public life functionary.
Jay Narayan Vyas (Born 14 April 1947) is currently the minister in charge of Health & Family Welfare, Tourism, Devsthan Pilgrimage Development, Co-ordination of Voluntary Organisations, Non Resident Gujarati Division in Government of Gujarat.
He is a post graduate in Civil Engineering from IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) Mumbai also holds post graduate qualifications in Marketing Management and a degree in Law.
Vyas provided an able leadership and guidance for achieving the pre-decided goal of putting the Gujarat State in forefront on the industrial map of India.
